Patrick is a boy who is very rude, he don't do his household chores, he always played games and never did his homework. One day he found his cat playing with a doll he snatched that doll away from her but surprisingly it wasn’t a doll it was a little man who had weared a very old fashion dress. He promised Patrick that he would do his homework if he save him. Patrick saved him and asked to the elf to do his homework and according to his words the little elf started doing Patrick's homework. But there was a problem the elf don't know anything and he asked Patrick to help him every time. Patrick had to help as he want to complete his homework before semester ends and he only had 35 days to complete his homework. He asked for more books and Patrick had to bring them from the library but he had to read them all and find answer. He had completed his homework before semester ends and he got A's in his exams. His friends were shocked his teachers praised him. After that time he developed a whole new attitude in himself and he started doing his homework, he cleaned his room, never rude. His parents were shocked of Patrick's new character.

1. Patrick never did homework. "Too boring," he said. He played hockey instead and basketball and Nintendo instead. His teachers told him, “Patrick! Do your homework or you won’t learn a thing.” And it’s true, sometimes he did feel like an ignoramus. But what could he do? He hated homework.

Patrick is never doing his homework and he loves to play hockey, basketball and Nintendo. His teachers are only scolding Patrick that he should do his homework otherwise he would get failed in his exams.

 

2. Then one day he found his cat playing with a little doll and he grabbed it away. To his surprise it wasn't a doll at all, but a man of the tiniest size. He had a little wool shirt with old fashioned-bretches and a tall hat much like a witch's. He yelled, "Save me! Don't grant me away to that cat. I will grant you I wish, I promise you that."

One day when he came home he saw his cat playing with a doll but he don't have any doll, so he thought that his cat has stolen it from neighbouring house, he snatched or took that doll away from her. When he saw the doll carefully he got surprised, it wasn't a doll it was a man of tiniest size. He had wear a little wool shirt that has old fashioned-bretches, he had tall hat that was like a witch's hat. He asked Patrick to not to give him away to that doll again, he added if Patrick did that we will grant him a wish. Patrick agreed with it.

3. Patrick couldn't believe how lucky he was! Here was the answer to all his problems. So he said, "Only if you do all my homework till the semester, that's 35 days. If you do a good enough job, I could even get A's."

After those words of little man Patrick made a quick decision, and he thought that now he has get all the solutions to his problems. He told that if the little man do a good job he can get A grade but the little man had to do this job before semester, that's 35 days.

 

4. The little man’s face wrinkled like a dishcloth thrown in the hamper. He kicked his legs and doubled his fists and he grimaced and scowled and pursed his lips, “Oh, am I cursed! But I'll do it."

The little man got worried and sad and his face just was looking like a wrinkled dishcloth thrown in the hamper. He got angry he kicked his legs, he doubled his fists and he saw Patrick like that if he was giving curse to Patrick. He murmured that Oh is he cursed but he will still do Patrick's homework because he don't want to go back again to Patrick's cat.

 

5. And true to his word, that little elf began to do Patrick’s homework. Except there was one glitch. The elf didn’t always know what to do and he needed help. “Help me! Help me!” he’d say. And Patrick would have to help — in whatever way. “I don’t know this word,” the elf squeaked while reading Patrick’s homework. “Get me a dictionary. No, what’s even better, look up the word and sound it out by each letter.”

As the little man had promised Patrick, he began to do Patrick's homework. But there was a problem. The little man don't know what to do and he always needed help. He was always needed help of Patrick and Patrick had to help him in whatever way he could. The little man was always asking Patrick the meaning of some words that he don't know and Patrick had to search them in dictionary and from some resource book.

 
 

6. When it came to maths, Patrick was out of luck. “What are times tables?” the elf shrieked. “We elves never need that. And addition and subtraction and division and fractions? Here, sit down beside me, you simply must guide me.” Elves know nothing of human history, to them it’s a mystery. So the little elf, already a shouter, just got louder. “Go to the library, I need books. More and more books. And you can help me read them too.”

When the little man was trying to do maths questions, Patrick became very unlucky as the little man knows nothing about addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and lot of other things. He told Patrick to sit down beside him and help him in doing Patrick's homework. The little man said that the elf's(little man) doesn't know about human history and for them it was a mystery. The little man who was shouting became louder. He told Patrick to go to library and to bring him some books and to help him yo read that books.

7. As a matter of fact, every day in every way that little elf was a nag! Patrick was working harder than ever and was it a drag! He was staying up nights, had never felt so weary, was going to school with his eyes puffed and bleary.

Every day the little man was making trouble for Patrick. Patrick had to work harder than ever and he had to increase his efforts day by day. He was staying awake till late night, he never had this kind of routine and due to lack of sleep his eyes were red and he always went to school with red eyes.

 

8. Finally, the last day of school arrived and the elf was free to go. As for homework, there was no more, so he quietly and slyly slipped out the back door.

On the last day of school the little man got freed and he had completed his promise so he silently ran out by the back door.

 

9. Patrick got his A’s; his classmates were amazed; his teachers smiled and were full of praise. And his parents? They wondered what had happened to Patrick. He was now the model kid. Cleaned his room, did his chores, was cheerful, never rude, like he had developed a whole new attitude.

10. You see, in the end, Patrick still thought he’d made that tiny man do all his homework. But I’ll share a secret, just between you and me. It wasn’t the elf; Patrick had done it himself!
